Josephine Brereton

Josephine is a soprano, music educator, and graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she completed a Bachelor of Music Education. She is a regular performer with leading Australian ensembles including the Choir of St James’ King Street, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, and Cantillation.  Notable performances featuring Josephine as a soloist include Passion and Resurrection with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra (2023), Adele in Die Fledermaus with Rockdale Opera Company (2022), and on Laurence Pike’s album The Undreamt of Centre (performed live at Phoenix Central Park, 2024). She recently participated in the Song Company’s Emerging Artist Program.

Josephine is an accomplished vocal educator and music director. She currently teaches voice and conducts choirs at Abbotsleigh Senior School, and serves as Music Director and Yodeler with the Sydney Swiss Yodelers, who are preparing for their upcoming tour to Jodelfest 2026 in Basel, Switzerland.

In 2025 Josephine will appear as a soloist with Canberra Choral Society, the Australian Chamber Orchestra, and the Phoenix Choir Blackheath.
