Red Dirt Hymns - Come and Sing!

Born in a time of fire and darkness, grief, and loss, and then fragile, tender hope, Red Dirt Hymns are songs of awe and praise, dedicated not to a god, but to the land. Featuring music by Andrew Ford OAM, this project brings together the words of sixteen contemporary Australian writers – poets, essayists, and folksingers.

All keen singers are warmly invited to join acclaimed vocal ensemble Luminescence Chamber Singers, for a free workshop rehearsal on Monday 10 November, and to participate in the performance on Thursday 13 November. Participants will work with the Chamber Singers, AJ America, alongside Red Dirt Hymns musical director Roland Peelman, cellist Freya Shack-Arnott and guitarist Harley Coleman, as well as singers from the local community.

This project provides a rare opportunity for singers to perform as part of an amazing new music project alongside professional musicians.
