50 years after his death, Britten’s writing for young voices remains unrivaled. Luminescence Children’s Choir joins one of Australia’s most acclaimed harpists, Alice Giles, to mark this anniversary year with a performance of Britten’s beloved A Ceremony of Carols - the jewel in the crown of repertoire for young singers.
Before Britten’s dazzling cycle of medieval texts is a chance to hear Luminesence’s newest member Josephine Brereton take centre stage, performing Per Nørgård’s 1975 Fons Laetitiae - a meditation on Marian melodies, heavenly beauty, and redeeming joy.
