Particles of Light: Live at The Church

  • The Church 9 Mitchell Road Alexandria, New South Wales, 2015 Australia (map)

Luminescence, like its namesake in nature, is a phenomenon.” Canberra City News, June 2025

It strikes like a particle, but moves like a wave; emanates in straight lines, yet drapes the world in beauty. Light is the ultimate ephemera; it can't be bottled, only felt, remembered, or experienced blazingly new. Particles of Light sees light in the sound of six voices, in radiant vocal music that glimmers, refracts and fractures into colour, from the 'light tales' of Elena Kats-Chernin to the dawning of Nardi Simpson’s ‘Yarrager Mayraa’. Join Luminescence Chamber Singers as they take the stage for a joyful celebration of their founding metaphor: how singing illuminates.

Presented by The Church, a meticulously restored 19th-century Gothic church in Alexandria, NSW owned by Judith Neilson AM that houses rehearsals and work development for musicians by invitation.

Entry is free by ballot only. Ballot is drawn Tuesday 15 September.
