Drawing on Renaissance art, music, and science, Luminescence’s debut album Of The Bodypairs a major new song cycle by Dan Walker with some of the most rabelaisian Renaissance repertoire.Of The Body traverses sex, sensuality, our flesh and blood, exploring our corporeal form in a distinctly contemporary context. Inspired by Buxtehude’s Membra Jesu Nostri, each movement of Walker’s song cycle is devoted to an anatomical part: the eyes, the hands, the mouth, the feet, the blood, and finally, the heart.
Of The Body CDs are available at the door of Luminescence concerts, and online.
